Unveiled at the Mandello headquarters at the beginning of September, the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello was officially presented at EICMA.
Everything revolves around the new V-twin engine, always transversal and with shaft final drive, but this time with liquid cooling.
It still has a 90 ° V, but heads turned 90 °, a displacement of 1,042 cc, double-shaft distribution and four valves per cylinder.
The power is declared at 115 horsepower and the maximum torque is 105 Nm, the maximum rotation limit at 9,500 rpm.
It is 103mm shorter than the small block of the V85TT and has a new driveshaft housed in the single-sided aluminum alloy swingarm with no reaction rod due to its new neutral geometry.
The electronics package adopts the six-axis inertial platform and the ride by wire throttle.
There are four riding modes: Viaggio, Sport, Pioggia and Strada, each of which manages three different engine maps, four levels of traction control, three levels of engine brake and also the calibration of the semi-active suspensions from Öhlins, capable of automatically adapting the hydraulic braking.
Corning ABS is available as well.
New is the adaptive aerodynamics that automatically adjusts the position of the deflectors on the sides of the 17.5 liter tank according to the speed and one of the four Riding Modes selected.
The open aerodynamic deflectors reduce the pressure from the air to the rider by 22%, while the windshield is electrically adjustable in height.
The cockpit is filled with a 5-inch color TFT screen linked to a full LED lighting system with DRL, the bending light system paired with additional headlights that illuminate the inside of the curve linked with cruise control.
The tubular steel frame has a wheelbase of 1,468 mm, the upside-down fork is coupled with a rear suspension with shock absorber placed laterally and without progressive articulation.
The wheels are 17 inches, the braking system is Brembo and the weight of the new Moto Guzzi has not yet been declared.
The initial versions of the V100 Mandello are to commemorate the first hundred years existence of Moto Guzzi. After that there will be two versions which you can order.
The richer version features Öhlins semi-active suspensions, quick shift, heated grips and the Moto Guzzi MIA multimedia platform which allows you to connect your smartphone to the instrumentation via bluetooth.
