Triumph has unveiled the 2022 Tiger 1200, which will make its mark in the battle for the crown of the high performance adventure bikes.
The aim is to provide a new level of on-road performance with dynamic off-road capability and in the process let GS(A) owners dream about a valid alternative.

The 1160cc three-cylinder produces 150 hp at 9,000 rpm and 130 Nm at 7,000 rpm.
In the run-up to the unveiling of the 1200 Tiger, there were rumors that the Speed Triple 1200 RR engine would also power the Tiger.
The designation 1200 supported the rumor but it has become a new engine.
The three-cylinder has a T-shaped crankshaft with uneven firing order to provide better control and feel at low revs, instant response and optimum feel at medium and higher revs for better traction, especially off-road.
The Tiger 1200 has the most horsepower of any shaft-drive motorcycle.

The 2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 comes in five different versions, three GT and two Rally models. The GT models are primarily intended for road use and are equipped accordingly. The cast aluminum wheels come in sizes 19 and 18 inches.
The GT and GT Pro have a tank capacity of 20 liters, the GT Explorer is equipped with a 30 liter tank.
The two Rally models are tailor-made for on- and off-road use and come with tubeless 21 inch front and 18 inch rear wire wheels.

Triumph also made great progress when it comes to weight. Compared to the previous generation, an almost improbable 25 kg was saved. If you compare again with the competitors, the Tiger is up to 17 kg lighter.
The curb weight of the Tiger 1200 is stated around 240 – 261 kg, depending on the model.
The weight saving was made possible by a completely new chassis. The new and stronger 'Tri-Link' swingarm is also lighter.

The brakes are Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers. The IMU allows the ABS to take into account the lean angle of the motorcycle. Traction control is also controlled based on lean angle.
Depending on which model, there are up to six different riding modes, which can be set via the 7-inch display. The semi-active suspension comes from Showa. It's tuned for maximum on-road and off-road capability.

The two Explorer models are equipped with Triumph Blind Spot Radar, Blind Spot Assist uses rear-facing radar to warn the driver of vehicles in the blind spot.
If someone indicates that they want to change lanes but a vehicle is approaching from behind, the driver is warned. This technology was developed in collaboration with Continental.
The Rally models are equipped with adaptive cornering lighting, Hill Start Assist and quickshifter including blipper function. Heated grips are standard on Explorer models, as is the tire pressure monitoring system.
In addition to all tech above, the keyless-go system also controls the steering wheel lock and the fuel cap.

In good fashing with all other Triumph models, Triumph offers more than 50 genuine accessories as options. These include protective parts, upgrades to auxiliary systems and complete baggage systems.

The Triumph 1200 models will be available from dealers from April 2022.
