After BMW recently acquired the rights to the R12 designation, the protection of the name Roctane comes.
Not much is known about the Roctane, just that the name will be used for a motorcycle. Unlike the R12, which will clearly be a derivative of the R18, it is not yet possible to say in which segment the Roctane will be placed.
It is very possible that the Roctane will be identical to the future R12. But it's also worth remembering that BMW already unveiled the R18/2 concept in 2019. That was a low and partially disguised version of the R18. In the meantime, the R18 is on the market and enjoys great popularity, but we have not heard anything about the R18/2 until now.
It is very possible that the R18/2 will be released under the name Roctane. At the moment this is still a matter of speculation.
