This morning Honda shared all information on the Hawk 11, the cafe racer built on the technical basis of the Honda NT1100, derived in turn from the Africa Twin 1100.
We start by confirming that this is a model intended for the Japanese market , it will go on sale on 29 September and the price has been set at 1.397.000 yen which corresponds to approximately 10.200 euro.
To give you an idea, the CB1000R Black Edition, which is now making its debut in Japan, goes on sale for around 12,540 euro.
Honda expects to sell 1200 units of the Hawk 11 in its first year.
The bike will only be available with the six-speed gearbox with no DCT option, since it is a neo sport model.
The maximum power and torque are the same as the NT 1100, with 102 horsepower at 7500 rpm and 104Nm at 6250 rpm .
The curb weight is declared at 214 kg against 238 for the NT1100.
The Hawk 11 also uses the engine, electronics of the NT1100.
It has a cafe racer-inspired modern classic line in which the composite half-fairing stands out with a round headlight similar to that of the CB1000R.
You can even say it shares the same look as the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR.
The Hawk is a model designed to focus on the driveability and comfort of a road sports bike, so definitely not extreme.
Honda has also decided to sell its four-cylinder CB1000R Black Edition next to the Hawk 11, for those looking for more performance.
The 1084 cc two-cylinder in-line engine, with Unicam distribution and four valves per cylinder, is therefore the same already used by the NT1100 and launched in the Africa Twin 1100.
Even the chassis is in fact that of the NT1100 with some dimensional variations : for example the wheelbase drops from 1535mm to 1510mm and the trail measurement also changes.
Suspensions, 17-inch wheels and brakes are those of the NT1100 and also the height of the saddle from the ground remains at 820 mm.
Colors include the monochromatic blue tint (Pearl Hawks Eye Blue) and the two-tone in graphite black and silver.
