The 2022 SR is built around the same distinctive external tubular steel truss frame and engine platform as its premium siblings SR/F and SR/S.
For example, the SR is standard equipped with the ZF 75-10 power source, in this SR good for 166 Nm of torque, 75 hp power and a top speed of 167 km/h. The brand new Cypher III+ operating system manages the technology on the 2022 SR.
Cypher III+ is the latest version of Zero's operating system and gives Zero riders access to another industry first: the Cypher Store.
It's an on-demand marketplace that gives owners access to upgrades that improve their engine's performance in a variety of ways.
Options available from launch include faster charging, more range, a speed and performance boost, parking mode, heated grips and navigation via the display.
All of these improvements can be added effortlessly to the 2022 SR as well as to the SR/F and SR/S.
The Zero SR's evolved Z-Force lithium-ion battery has a higher energy density without increasing mass. The improved energy source, with a renewed design and architecture, has a capacity of 14.4+ kWh.
The plus sign indicates that the battery pack can optionally be expanded to 17.3 kWh.
Combining the new battery with the optional Power Tank maximizes the battery pack for a total capacity of 20.9 kWh. That's the largest capacity ever aboard a Zero, and good for a range of 365 km in the city or 182 km at 113 km/h.
Furthermore, the SR can now also use the public EV charging network thanks to the Mennekes Type II connector. Zero Motorcycles also offers Wall Outlet Adapters for charging the battery at home, at work or anywhere a normal wall outlet is available.
