You can't visit Scotland without

Day 7:

Today is a touristic day, not a lot of riding, but we did some whiskey tasting.
We went an visited the The Singleton Distillery and of course we took home a bottle (or 2?)

visiting a Distillery

Glenfiddich & Glen Ord are still my 2 favorites.

Day 8:

Oh Nessy for where are thou?

Riding around the lake of Loch Ness hoping to get a glimpse of old Nessy.
Didn't see anything out of the ordinary except that one time when I was looking in a mirror.

Appearantly 8 days of riding in rain and cold makes me look a bit worse for wear.

Day 9:

From Cannich we set our goal for Saint Andrew. The weather has changed completely, blue skies and sun.

It was the very first time that we actually felt warm/hot on the bike and it was more then welcome.
I guess it was also the first time since the start of our trip that I didn't need to choke the bike.

While riding we pass a lot of viewing points and when had a special treat in place.
A Scottish guy, dressed in Kilt was playing the pipes. Awesome experience!

Day 10 & 11:

Sightseeing!

We went to the Falkirk wheel (and of course toke a boat trip on the wheel) and the day after we went for Edinburgh Castle.
Enjoying the weather and the time to spend some time with the local people.

Always great to hear their stories about scotland (and tourists).
One older lad spent an hour or 2 talking about this youth and how he visited Belgium.
We had a drink together and talked bout a lot of stuff.

Not the most "biker"-day of the trip, but it was a great experience.

Day 12 & 13:

Time to go home.

As our travelling is coming to an end the roads are taking us back to Hull.
We don't want to miss our ferry and take a camping site as close as possible to Hull.

We do some local touring before entering the ferry and go on our way home.

Conslusion

We spent a lot of time preparing the trip and afterwards we have to admin: we prepared to much.
At some points there was some stress to achieve the goals set and that takes away part of the fun.

The Sevenfifty did a great job! At that time he was already 20 years.
Hauling all that luggage and still being very solid in the turns.

In the years after I upgraded the suspension & brakes (steel braided lines) which made a huge difference.
So it should go even better now.
