XP400, the new Peugeot adventure sport scooter.

The House of the lion makes its debut in the SUV-inspired maxi scooter segment with its XP400: adventure looks, 17" front wheel and Kayaba suspension.

 

The success of the Honda X-ADV has also prompted other manufacturers to offer an adventure inspired scooter which are the equivalent of SUVs in the car field.

Eicma saw the debut of the new Peugeot XP400, a brand new model offered in two trim levels.
In the case of the GT model, the aesthetics play more with the adventure themes, the knobby tires on the spoked rims, the tubular protections, the hand guards and the aluminum-coated footrest.
The spoked rims suitable for tubeless tyres.
The XP400 Allure version has a more road setting, so the rims are spoked light alloy and the side guards are missing. Both models have a visible motorcycle type handlebar.

The engine is a 400 cc single cylinder, developing 36.7 horsepower at 8150 rpm and maximum torque of 38 Nm at 5400 rpm.
Braking is supported by a double 295 mm disc at the front (with radial calipers) and a single 240 mm disc at the rear, the ABS is two-channel.
There is traction control on two levels which can be deactivated, there are two maps : Road and Rain.

The KYB suspension features an inverted fork with 41mm stanchions and 140mm of travel.
At the rear, the mono has an unusual lateral position and is connected to the swingarm by an arched transmission.
Wheels measure 17 inches front and 15 rear, with 110/70 and 160/60 section Pirelli Scorpion Rally semi-knob tires.

The dashboard features a 5" TFT screen that offers connectivity and step-by-step navigation.
The equipment includes an adjustable-height windshield, DRL light, start-up with smartkey and an USB socket. 
Storage below the seat can hold a full-face helmet. The declared weight quite high at 231 kg.

The Allure version is available in the Aurora Satin Green and Sideral Mat Black colours.
The GT is instead offered in the colors Shark Greyì and Snow White. 
Both versions will go on sale at the end of the first quarter of 2023.
