The Yamaha R7 was introduced in 2021 and the launch campaign, photos and videos, had been done in the USA.
So much so that the R7 was already on sale there in the summer, while in Europe it only arrived at the end of November that same year.
It is therefore not surprising that the 2023 version is already available on the Yamaha USA website, a version that has changed in the offer of colors.
Or, rather, in the addition of a color called Intensity White. Next to the Intensity white color there are still the Icon Blue and Yamaha black colors available.
A white base that continues the color of the 2022 60th Anniversary version, but with a different shade and above all with red wheels and dedicated graphics.
Remember that the R7 is equipped with the same two-cylinder in-line engine as the MT-07 which is Euro5 approved
In this configuration the Yamaha CP2 delivers around 74 horsepower at 8750 rpm with a maximum torque at 67 Nm at 6,500 rpm.
With the 2023 model there are some small changes concerning the ignition / injection control unit, the intake ducts and the injection calibration.
In addition, the final ratio has been shortened for the benefit of acceleration.
There is a slipper clutch and A&S assist available.
The saddle is 835 mm from the ground, the tank holds just 13 liters and the weight is declared at 188 kg in running order.
In the transition from model year 2022 to 2023 the price slightly increased.
Compared to the MT-07, the design of the frame has been changed, an aluminum alloy swingarm, and a 41 mm Kayaba inverted fork has been adopted, with adjustable compression and rebound hydraulics.
The progressive Monocross rear suspension also changes with shock absorber mounted horizontally to reduce overall dimensions, leaving space for the exhaust under the engine.
At the front there are 298mm discs and four-piston radial calipers with radial Brembo master cylinder.
