Yamaha just released their 2022 update of their MT-10 model, the flagship model of Yamaha's immensely popular and expansive Master of Torque naked range.
The halo model to which the others like MT-09, MT-07, MT-03 and the MT-125 look up to. The MT-10 indeed began to look a bit outdated, surely if you look at its rivals
such as the Honda CB1000R and Triumph's Speed Triple 1200 RS.
It has been a bit late to the party of this latest generation of sister Yamaha R1, but better late than never.
Looking at the design of the cyclops MT-09 and the new R7, you will notice that Yamaha has stuck with perhaps a safer existing formula.
The design is more an evolved design of its predecessor with sharp stealthy appearance combined by a short overhang front end and compact twin eye monofocus led headlights.
The MT-10 continues this theme of individuality with a powerful and dignified new look that underlines the bike's intense character and intimidating presence .
Under the skin there are some equally interesting changes with the 998cc CP4 engine tuned to deliver more power rising from 158hp to 164hp.
Tweaks to provide greater linear torque between 4000rpm and 8000rpm while it's also more economical and cleaner towards the environment.
Yamaha has worked on literally amplifying the tune of the MT-10s engine to essentially give it its own distinctive soundtrack.
They have achieved this by fitting an all-new cleaner box to ensure each duct produces a difference in conjunction with a new titanium exhaust plus what it calls
acoustic amplifier grilles. We are not entirely sure what that exactly means but something we are eager to try out.
From the rider seat the Yamaha MT-10 gets use of a new 4.2 full color tft dashboard derived from the R1 while it helps improvements in ergonomics around the so-called rider triangle.
