Honda has always had a thing for mini-motorcycles that was the case in the 70s and 80s.
Over the past decade, Honda introduced the MSX125 Grom and brought back the equally legendary Monkey.
After a 41-year absence from Honda's European line-up, the new ST125 Dax is once again happily jumping from the starting blocks.
The Dax is authentic, robust and offers easy driving pleasure, visually faithful to the original but with 21st century technology.
Honda specifies 1,760mm x 760mm x 1,020mm as length, width and height. The wheelbase is 1,020 mm, the seat height is 775 mm. The ST125 Dax has a turning circle of 2 meters and weighs 107 kg when ready to drive.
The tiny Honda has a pressed steel frame, 31mm USD forks, 12-inch cast aluminum five-spoke wheels and an air-cooled SOHC two-valve four-speed engine with centrifugal clutch.
All this adds up to a maximum power of 6.9 kW (at 7,000 rpm), while torque is 10.8 Nm (at 5,000 rpm).
The 3.8 liter petrol tank is also housed in the tubular steel frame.
In times of expensive petrol, the consumption of the Dax is very striking. According to Honda, the ST125 Dax has an average consumption of 1.6 l/100 km.
The presence of electronics is rather limited on the ST125 Dax, so only the front wheel is equipped with ABS, full LED lighting, a compact and negative LCD screen and a grab rail for the passenger complete the full specification list.
