Finally! Not a day too early, if you ask us.
We can gradually make a prediction about the final appearance and the engine configuration: Italian motorcycle media believe that the new Transalp will already appear under the curtain at EICMA!
After all, the competition has been thriving for several years now under the influence of its mid-range adventures – think of the Yamaha Ténéré 700 or Tuareg 660.
The rumors surrounding the new Transalp have become a lot more serious due to a patent application in the US.
After all, Honda has again protected the model name Transalp for the American market over there. A registration that had expired since 2016, and had already been renewed in 2017 in Europe.
Italian sources are proud that they have sufficient evidence that the Transalp will be on the EICMA this year, and will already be on the market in 2023.
In whatever capacity we get to see the Transalp next November maybe, the chance is very small that Honda will opt for a V2 as the old one does.
After all, big red currently still has the 755cc parallel twin from the NC750X on the shelf.
But even more likely, the Transalp will share its platform with the equally expected Hornet, which will likely make do with a brand new parallel twin.
So a small Africa Twin, which probably gets about 800cc of lung capacity and could therefore perform 75 hp or more.
The added value versus the close competitors could be the implementation of DCT.
